4. The ART of ARTiculating - a necessary ingradient in our research...

Many a time, we find ourselves in a mess...mess of ideas, thoughts, fuzzy logics, contradictions, etc.. and succumb to confusion and loss of interest in our work....

Great corporates are hiring technocrats to solve these messes and come up with a beautiful product and they are paying gold  for that......:)

So is research.

Good knowledge of English and a good sense of vocabulary is a must.

If we have gold in our head, if we can't spell 'G O L D', what is the use??

We need to read a research paper carefully, line by line, word by word.

Google any words or phrases that you do not understand immediately.

It is essential to capture the meaning in the first few attempts of reading. Otherwise, it's a waste of time and effort.

If you encounter with a technical word or phrase, it is essential to understand the scientific meaning and the physics involved. Say, I came across a word 'piezoelectricity'. If I don't care to look up the meaning and the science behind it, I will surely miss the point in the paper. I will hence, surely miss my research idea I am looking for!!!

So, some tips:

1. Make googling of unknown words a habit.
2. Read between lines in a paper
3. Understand a paper and try to put the gyst in a paragraph - summarize.
4. Do brain mapping,
5. Review ever day, every week.
6. Lastly, read newspapers, novels, magazines, articles from scientific repositories like IEEE

Doing these will make you go a long way in expresssing our thoughts clearly, concisely and without any grammatical errors and mistakes.

Paper writing is an AART. So, if you know the art of ARTiculation, we can paint a good picture of our work in a paper, that will get accepted in a scientific journal.
