Hi all.....
Yes. It is the time when we are having lot of expectations, we unduly have over confidence, we anticipate for the acceptance or a revision of our beautifully crafted manuscript, which is now with the unknown, but world renowned (say experts) reviewers.
So, the question is, is it enough to send the paper to the journal and move on with other chores and new research? What is that that is ideal to do after your paper communication??
Simple and straight forward.
1. Read your paper once again after communication!!!!
2. Think you are a reviewer. So, you are looking at your paper through the reviewer's eyes and not as an author.
3. Be a self critic.
4. Find as many flaws as possible in your paper.
5. Is your paper missing in any scientific information?
6. Is your paper complete in itself and explains all the necessary points?
7. Why should the Editor accept your paper?
8. What improvements can I do if I get my paper for a major/minor revision?
9. What if my paper got rejected?
10. Can I add a bit more value to the paper, if so I go for a major revision?
Hope for the best. But prepare for the worst.........
